a place to call home…
He quickly swallowed his bite of cheesesteak, mid chew as the shock sped up his need to reply to my response. It was evident he had no idea that question would actually warrant a yes.“Wait, really? Seriously?”“100%. Why not?” I said in a light hearted manner. As if picking up my entire life, leaving behind all Continue reading

my best yes…
“What can I get you two to eat?” the waiter asked as he approached us at the counter.“My treat. Get anything you like,” my friend said.I looked up from the menu at the waiter, “what do you recommend?”He listed off a few items; raved about one of the salad options and the pizza and the Continue reading

a spirit stuck in time…
We were sitting on his deck eating peanut butter cookies (I have tried and failed countless times to find cookies back home nearly as good as those).I was sipping on the coffee he made me upon arriving at his house. He and I were discussing the correlation of the beehive and Utah – narrowing it down Continue reading

the release of butterflies…
“I like this one,” I said standing in front of a print with five horses galloping in the sand.We were walking through our fifth gallery. I asked him to lead every aspect of the day, with him being the local and me the tourist. Lately he had become interested in art so we spent the Continue reading

the text that started it all…
I took a 24 hour adventure to Denver a few months ago.Leave it to me to drive 8 hours for a concert. And then straight back through the night to make it home in time for work.In the middle of a treacherous snowstorm. Not exactly the safest decision, but I exist for the thrill of it all Continue reading

receiving the phone number…
We were in Park City walking into the restaurant he chose for lunch. The same one he used to frequent with his students back when he was a ski instructor.I was told the story as we approached the building of how eager the kids would get at the end of the lesson to race back down Continue reading

a divine encounter in chicago…
“Excuse me miss, you look so familiar.”I was walking back to my car in Chicago when he stopped me.“Do I know you from somewhere?” he asked.(This question has been a reoccurring one in my life. And I am at 0 out of about a 1,000 for actually knowing the person.)“I am a little far from Continue reading

regaining the life i gave away…
The hardest part of the ending of my “relationship” in 2021 was not the loss of the person. That actually became the easiest aspect of it all.Facing betrayal with eyes wide open, not blinded by the illusion of love, will do that to you.The more you see, the less you need.–The most difficult part was the Continue reading

a thousand failed attempts to reach home…
The last writing left off on the realization while preparing for my road trip that the last time I packed for such an extended period of time was when going to treatment in 2014.Those two events may seem drastically different, but they shared common causes.–To heal.To aid in the becoming of my most authentic self.To Continue reading

even if not for a lifetime…
It was an afternoon in early April. We were sitting on his bedroom floor (once our office) in our apartment about to make our final decision – do we keep trying or do we officially let this see a conclusion? We had been broken up but still living together for the past four months.I knew what needed Continue reading
About Me
I am a woman on a mission to turn her pain into purpose using her passion for writing. This blog is the journey of my becoming, excerpts from the pages of my book of life – the good and bad and everything in between – written with the intent to heal, to guide, to inspire…
I write to document the tale of a heroine slaying every dragon that comes her way for she knows she is the only one who can save herself.
I write to tell the story of a woman brought back to life; a chronicle of rebirth to show the power of hope and redemption.
I write to give meaning to every yes spoken – whether in shouts or whispers, in fear or bravery.
I write to share with the world the story of what happens when one believes in the beauty of a better tomorrow. What happens when one refuses to settle for anything less than butterflies. What happens when a mere spark you defiantly declined to let go out ignites into an inferno.
I write to open the eyes of all those who feel like the victim in their own story to see that they are not helpless or damaged or weak. They are in control. They have everything within to become the victor.
I write to speak life into the grieving to allow words laced in truth and love to mend the wounds inhibiting the heart from moving forward.
I write for the invisible to feel seen. I write to lead us all on the journey to the happily ever after….it is waiting to be lived by each of us <3
